SpieJet seaplane trial

SpiceJet Successfully Conducts Sea Plane Trial in Girgaon Chowpatty, Mumbai.

The demo flight, carried out with "Quest Kodiak 100" aircraft, registration : "N181KQ" in association with Japan's Setouchi Holdings was however, not without the hiccups as the poor visibility delayed its take off by over one-and-half-hour from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Int'l Airport for Girgaon Chowpatty.

Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Aviation Minister A. Gajpati Raju and CMD of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh were also present at the trial run event on Saturday (9th Dec 2017).

Amphibious seaplane operations can bring the remotest parts of India into the mainstream aviation network without the high cost of building airports and runways under UDAN scheme.
